General Information
The University of Delhi South Campus offers various teaching programmes in different disciplines (see tables at Annexure II and III of the Handbook of Information UDSC).
The University of Delhi reserves the right to make alteration in its academic schedule and system of examinations at any stage in duration of any or all the programmes.
Students joining courses such as English, Hindi, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Political Science, History, Commerce and Mathematics will be enrolled according to announced procedure of the Department concerned.
Where admission is through an entrance test, there will be an entrance test conducted by the Department. On the basis of the Entrance test, separate merit lists will be prepared for the General and Reserved Categories. Candidates are required to clearly indicate their categories in the application form. The Department will display the merit list for General as well as Reserved Categories and the sanctioned seats will be filled strictly according to rules. Out of the merit list, the Department will allot colleges to the candidates. In case, a candidate does not take admission in the college allotted to him/her, the resultant vacant seat will be filled from the waiting list.
Centralised Entrance tests for admission to M A English, History, Hindi, Political Science, Commerce, Sanskrit, Philosophy and Applied Operational Research will be conducted in the North Campus only. So the candidates should get themselves registered in the North Campus.
The Entrance Tests are held locally in Delhi for courses such as M Tech in Microwave Electronics, M Sc Electronics (50% seats), M Sc Genetics, M Sc Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, M A Applied Psychology and PG Hindi Journalism (Certificate/Diploma). The candidates are advised to contact the offices of the respective Departments for the admission form and details.
The courses such as Master’s Programme on Management of Services (MBA-MS), Master of Business Economics (MBE), Master of Finance and Control (MFC) and M Sc (Informatics) have already completed their Entrance Tests and have their own Admission Bulletin and procedure. For such courses, separate advertisements are given.
If a candidate taking admission in any PG course had already been a student of an institution under University of Delhi, but had migrated thereafter and is now reverting to this University, he/she will be required to indicate his/her previous enrolment number, and the same will stand revived.
5(a) Procedure for admission
A Registration Centre will be opened at South Campus. No candidate will be registered unless he/she fulfils the conditions laid down in the course requirements. Registration forms will be available at the Registration Centre. The form, duly filled in and accompanied by all relevant certificates (original and attested copies thereof) will have to be submitted at the time of registration at the Centre. The original certificates will be returned to the candidates immediately after verification and stamping on the reverse and the attested copies will be retained along with the form. For the convenience of students, the University has decided to accept the self-attested copies of documents/papers provided by the students. It is however clarified that if any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the student will be debarred from attending any course in the University or its college(s) for next five years and, in addition, a criminal case under relevant section of IPC (viz.470, 471,474 IPC etc.) will be initiated against him, to subject him to the requisite criminal proceedings. A Registration form, which is incomplete and unaccompanied by all the required documents listed below, will not be accepted.
· Marks sheet of the qualifying Degree Examination in respect of all papers.
· Degree Certificate of qualifying Examination or Provisional certificate.
· Certificate of class X for verification of date of birth.
· 3 copies of the Caste Certificate, if belonging to reserved category.
· Disability Certificate, in case of physically challenged candidates (in duplicate), issued by the competent Hospital/Board.
